Negin and Annika On Creating Numena, Building a Community, & More [Part 2]

Continued from Part 1...

WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU LOVED FROM PAST JOBS/POSITIONS THAT YOU ARE EXCITED TO CULTIVATE AT NUMENA?

Negin Ebrahimifard (NE) - I have truly loved working with fellow dietitians, physicians, social workers, nurses, educators, and interns of all backgrounds and hope to continue cultivating that network of relationships within Numena. This is community building — we have made those connections and now is the opportunity to cultivate and nourish those seeds to establish our deep roots in providing a selfless service to our clients. I believe the future of our profession relies heavily on our dietetic interns and I look forward to providing mentorship and preceptorship as soon as possible.

Annika Garman (AG) - I love diversity. Working with people from many different backgrounds is rewarding and motivating in many ways. I want to help a vast array of different people.

WHAT’S BEEN THE BEST PART OF BUILDING NUMENA THUS FAR?

NE - The best part has been building, demolishing, and then rebuilding with the help of our friends and family.

AG - picture taking, for sure!! Bloopers seen on this page:) and also seeing the collective effort from friends and family. So very excited for the community we are creating!!

WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU WANT THIS COMMUNITY TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?

NE - This question ties into the question of what is our purpose in life? To me, my purpose is to serve my community and to provide a network and support that is everlasting, unique, and inspiring.

AG - I like to have fun. I don’t take myself too seriously. I love live music, outdoor adventures, good books, soft blankets, friends, family and dogs. I promise to never shame you.
